Behind The Brush

Hi, I'm Zay. The owner and artist behind Zay Modesty Bridal MUA. My love for makeup started at my very early teen years and I booked my very first bride in 2018. I've been in the beauty industry for 11years since my very first client and I've been taking brides for 8 of them. Art has always been something I was naturally gifted at and so when I took what I did on paper to the face, everything changed for me. Makeup is more than a business to me, it is a passion. I take pride in my work and I love making brides feel beautiful on their special day.

Intentional Artistry

- I am 26 years old and have been married for 4 years.

- I learned how to do makeup in 2015, so I think that about explains my preference and love for full glam XD lol

- I am a huge fan of glitter, sparkles, and anything that shines.

- I am east African. I was born in Somalia but I came to America at 4 years old, so I naturally know more about America then Africa.

- Steak is my favorite food to eat. Preferably cooked medium to medium well, but honestly, as long as it's touch some type of fire, I'm down to devour it haha.

- I am an introvert. A lot of my brides are shocked when they hear this because I can come off outgoing and like an extrovert, but I promise, that energy is only reserved for my brides.
